PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a magnetic field detection apparatus compact as a whole by enabling the use of a size D battery as an electric power supply for the magnetic field detection apparatus in a method for detecting a magnetic field through the use of a magnetic impedance effect element. SOLUTION: The magnetic impedance effect element 1 is excited by high-frequency impression 2. The high frequency is modulated as carrier waves by a magnetic field to be detected Hex acting on the magnetic impedance effect element 1. The modulated waves are demodulated, and the demodulated waves are amplified. By negatively feeding back output of an amplifier to a coil 51 for negative feedback arranged in the vicinity of the magnetic impedance effect element to linearize characteristics of output and the magnetic field to be detected, a magnetic field is detected in this method. Output of the amplifier 4 is shifted to a GND potential by a potential Vx, and a GND-side reference potential of the coil 51 for negative feedback is set at the potential Vx.
