PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition which is capable of washing with a sufficient detergency without hurting an article and additionally is environment- and human body-friendly, and to provide such a washing method for the article as performs the washing of the article by using the detergent composition. SOLUTION: The detergent composition contains at least a 3-6C, 1-bromoalkane and at least one washing solvent selected from the group consisting of a silicon-based solvent, a fluorine-based solvent, a chorine-based solvent and petroleum-based solvent, being used when performing a dry cleaning. The washing method for the article comprises performing the wash of the article by using this detergent composition. The detergent composition can wash effectively with the sufficient detergency without hurting the article and can become environment- and human body-friendly because this composition gives no adverse influence on the environment and causes hardly a scald or a rough skin to a human body.
