PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a slide memory function while securely functioning a slide lock regardless of a slide position at the time of being seated in a seat device for a vehicle in a seat device for a vehicle comprising a seat cushion supported by an upper rail slidable toward a lower rail, a seat back rotatably supported at a standing position and a front inclined position against the seat cushion, a slide lock mechanism made into a lock condition for restraining slide of the upper rail against the lower rail when the seat back is at a standing position and an unlock condition for allowing slide when it is at a front inclined position, and a slide memory mechanism for storing the seat position at the time of inclining the seat back forward and restraining movement of the seat backwardly from a storage position. SOLUTION: This seat device for a vehicle has an engagement member engaged at a front inclined position of a seat back and releasing engagement at a standing position, and is provided with an front inclined mechanism for giving generating resistance to the standing position to the seat back by engagement of the engagement member.
