PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arrayed waveguide grating, a demultiplexer and a multiplexer are able to adjust a signal level outputted from each waveguide without necessitating circuit components compensating for loss difference and a highly accurate component attaching operation. SOLUTION: The arrayed waveguide grating is provided with one or more input waveguides capable of inputting optical signals, a plurality of outpout wavguides capable of outputting optical signals, a channel waveguide array provided with a predetermined light path length difference, an input slab optical waveguide for connecting between the output waveguides and the channel waveguide array, an output slab wveguide for connecting between the output waveguides and the channel waveguide array, and a loss adjusting means for adjusting optical signal losses at connection points of the output waveguides and the output slab waveguide, and the loss adjusting means is characterized by adjusting the losses by varying contact angles of the output waveguides to the output slab waveguide.
