PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain data transmission to the utmost by minimizing deterioration in video and audio data even when a communication state is deteriorated. SOLUTION: A wireless center microcomputer of a wireless center (transmitter 100) being a component of a wireless AV system identifies a contents class of video and audio data to be transmitted on the basis of an EPG, sets a transmission rate of the transmitted video and audio data on the basis of a detected communication state, and carries out transmission rate revision control to revise the set transmission rate by referencing an MPEG rate on the basis of the identified contents class.
