PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable code type axial pin tumbler lock capable of simply and quickly carrying out changes of a key code, eliminating complicated detaching work such as a stopper or the like for controlling a rotational angle from a locking shaft section of a rotor when varying the key code. SOLUTION: A key code variable position is set in a usual rotational area becoming a locking state by a rotation initial and an unlocking state by a rotation terminal, and for slave keys K1 and K2, both of them pass through a positioning groove 23 of a fixed boy 1 in a locking position, while a positioning projection 27 engaged with the back of an inward collar section 21 is projected to the outside of the front end section of a cylindrical section in an unlocking position, for change keys CK1 and CK2, when the cylindrical section is insertable in a key fitting hole 22 in a key code variation position, a positioning section 27 aligned with an indicator section 26 on the fixed body 1 side is provided to the outside of the front end section of the cylindrical section so as not to interfere with the inward collar section 21 of the fixed body 1.
