PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter for multi-carrier transmission and multi-carrier transmission method in which data signals can be excellently separated in a data block while relaxing fluctuation of a transmission level. SOLUTION: In the transmitter 10 for multi-carrier transmission which transmits a stream containing a pilot signal in a symbol block on a plurality of sub-carriers, the transmitter 10 is provided with a pattern converting part 15 for converting a pattern of the pilot signal to be inserted into each of streams to average the number of pilot signals to be transmitted in a predetermined symbol block in a plurality of streams #1 to #4.
