摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas discharge display device having no possibility of generating a clearance between glass substrates of a display area, having no possibility of causing discharge leakage etc. when discharging discharge gas, and also capable of uniformly sealing the discharge gas into the whole of discharge cells by one operation. SOLUTION: This plasma display 1 is characterized in that glass substrates 2, 3 are oppositely disposed via a sealing material 22, a plurality of scanning electrodes and sustaining electrodes are formed in parallel with one another on the inner surface of the glass substrate 3, a plurality of address electrodes orthogonal to the scanning electrodes and the sustaining electrodes are formed in parallel one another on the inner surface of the glass substrate 2, partitions are formed between the address electrodes, respective recesses 7a compartmentalized by the partitions are formed as discharge cells. Moreover, a groove 21 to store the sealing material 22 is formed on the inner surface of the glass substrate 2 around a display portion D, and the glass substrates 2, 3 are sealed by the sealing material 22 which is stored into the groove 21.
