<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by separating an image memory of a color copying machine into a color memory and a black/white memory, individually carrying out power control in response to an operating mode, and controlling the stop of power application (brought into a self-refresh mode) to the color memory. <P>SOLUTION: A color image processing apparatus capable of selectively executing the black/white copy mode or a color copy mode is characterized in that the supply of power to the image processing apparatus is switched in response to the result of discrimination by a color discrimination means for inverting colors depending on whether an original is a color original or a black/white original. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
