<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pod column structure for a pod propulsion machine with reduced propeller surface force. <P>SOLUTION: The pod column structure 1 for the pod propulsion machine is composed of the propulsion machine 5 with built-in driving motor and two columns 7s, 7p fixing the propulsion machine to a hull for rotation. The columns 7s, 7p are provided by two. Each column 7s, 7p is formed to have a cross section in an aerofoil shape, and arranged from the propulsion machine 5 arranged on a center line of the hull 3 toward the hull 3 in a manner of getting away from the center line of the hull 3.
