LOW SULFUR, LOW ASH, AND LOW PHOSPHORUS LUBRICANT ADDITIVE PACKAGE USING OVERBASED CALCIUM OLEATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant additive package using overbased calcium oleate, having low sulfur, low ash and low phosphorus and usable for oil compounding. SOLUTION: The oil soluble lubricant additive package comprises at least one overbased metal carboxylate having a total base number of from about 120 to about 360 and at least one detergent, wherein the weight ratio of the overbased metal carboxylate to the detergent is from about 1:1 to about 3:1. The lubricating oils comprising the oil soluble lubricant additive package and the machines lubricated by the oils are also provided. Several methods for lubricating machines are also disclosed.
