PREPARATION METHOD FOR MICROORGANISM-IMMOBILIZED MICROCAPSULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that can simply give stabilized microcapsules with which microorganisms are immobilized.

SOLUTION: An aqueous solution containing microorganisms and a protective material polymer that forms gel in water is added to an organic phase comprising an organic solvent A that includes a polymer as a wall material and is a good solvent that can dissolve the wall polymer and another organic solvent B that boils at a higher temperature than the organic solvent A and poorly dissolves the wall material whereby they are emulsified. Thus, a W/O emulsion is prepared in which fine water drops includes a protective polymer into which microorganisms are involved, then the W/O emulsion is added to water phase to form are emulsified in the organic solvent phase is prepared and the resultant W/O emulsion is added to a water phase to form a W/O/W emulsion. From the W/O/W emulsion, is vaporized the organic solvent A at first by heating or heating under a reduced pressure and removed, then the organic solvent B is vaporized and removed to crystallize the wall polymer. The hollow and porous microcapsules with which microorganisms are immobilized are obtained that are useful in a wide variety of fields.
