PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position retrieval system which can transmit, from a terminal having position information obtained by a GPS signal, the position information to a third person. SOLUTION: The position retrieval system 10 has a phone number and/ or ID number to be accessed by a third person, and is composed of a personal handy terminal machine 13 having a means of receiving the GPS signal to obtain the position information and a means of transmitting the position information via a radio circuit 14, a mobile communication station 15 having a means of receiving the position information via the radio circuit 14 and a means of transmitting the position information via a first general wire line 161, a host server 17 having a means of receiving the position information via the first general wire line and transmitting the information via a second wire line 162, and personal computers 18, 20 which are connected to the host server via the second wire line and monitoring the activities of a user of the personal handy terminal machine 13.
