<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device to correct the spherical aberrations different for each disk without using other extra detecting parts. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with an optical pickup 4 irradiating an optical disk 1 with a beam spot through an objective lens group 40, receiving the reflected light from the optical disk by a bisected light receiving element, and detecting the difference signal of the electric output reflected by the receiving quantity of each light receiving element, a spherical aberration adjusting mechanism varying spherical aberration of the outgoing light of the objective lens group of the optical pickup 4, a means 210 detecting a control signal of the spherical aberration adjusting mechanism in which amplitude of the difference signal becomes the maximum at an arbitrary radius position of the optical disk, and a means 201 storing control signal data corresponding to the radius position obtained from this detecting means, and the spherical aberration adjusting mechanism is controlled based on the control signal data at the radius position stored in the storing means and recording or reproducing is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
