MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD THEREOF

A method of mobile communication in a MIMO wireless communication system including a transmitter having multiple transmitters and a receiver having multiple receivers whereby at the transmitter a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) code is added to a data block (301) to be transmitted and said data block is spatially segmented according to a modulation scheme and coding rate (305) of each respective transmit antenna of the multiple antennas. At the receiver the transmitted blocks are received with the multiple receivers and the CRC code is checked to determine if any error occurred during transmission. If it is determined that a received data block contains an error, the receiver requests the retransmission of said data block preferably utilizing a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) function.
