<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing method and device that enable reliable collation. <P>SOLUTION: The data processing device has an imaging part 11 for imaging a test body h with a unique pattern depending on the material so that the unique pattern can be identified to generate test image data, a correction part 16 for correcting the scale of the test image data according to the test image data generated by the imaging part 11 and an index h101 in the test image data, an extraction part 15 for extracting a reference area h102 from the corrected test image data, a correlation processing part 17 for detecting a correlation according to the extracted test image data and registered image data D_V stored in a database, and a collating part 18 for executing collation by determining whether the test image data on the test body h and the registered image data D_V have a common feature resulting from the unique pattern or not according to the correlation result detected by the correlation processing part 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
