PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image having high image quality while suppressing generation of leak or spark between electrodes covering the opposite sides of a cheek part. SOLUTION: The electrostatic ink jet head comprises ink ejecting projections 111 arranged in channels 113, and cheek parts each partitioning adjacent channels 113. In the channel 113, the cheek part 112 is covered with an ejection electrode 114 except the parts in the vicinity of the forward end on the opposite sides. Distance between the forward end of the ejection electrode 114 on the opposite sides of the cheek part 112 and the forward end of the cheek part is equal on the opposite sides of each cheek part and being set based on the material properties of the cheek part 112.
