PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a remote control signal to a disk device without being affected by a directing angle and a shielding object. SOLUTION: A speaker 28 generating pseudo sound out of an audio frequency band in accordance with respective keys in a key operation part 22 is arranged in a remote controller 200. A microphone 14 collecting pseudo sound generated from the speaker 28 is arranged in a DVD recorder 100. When a frequency of sound collected in the microphone 14 is matched with that of pseudo sound stored in a memory 13, a control part 11 decides that sound is a signal from the remote controller 200 when collected sound does not continue for not less than prescribed time, and an operation corresponding to the operated key is performed. When collected sound continues for not less than prescribed time, it decides that sound is not the signal from the remote controller 200 but is noise, and a message notifying a setting change of the frequency is displayed on a display part 12.
