ROLL EXCHANGE DEVICE FOR TWO-WAY DRIVE ROLLING MILL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll exchange device for a two-way drive rolling mill capable of exchanging an upper and lower work roll into a new upper and lower roll in a short period of time by extracting the upper and lower work roll easily and smoothly in the unilateral direction while arranging the roll exchange device only in the same unilateral side of the rolling line. SOLUTION: The roll exchange device for the two-way drive rolling mill includes an exchange truck 22 which is movable in the direction of the rolling line and provided in the unilateral side along the rolling line, an extruding and retracting device 24 in which the upper and lower roll are movable between the rolling position and the top of the exchange truck, and a roll side supporting device 26 which flexibly and axially supports the roll side end portion of a power transmission joint of a driving device in the side of the exchange truck. A space for the roll exchange is secured by sheltering the power transmission joint of the driving device in the side of the exchange truck to extract the upper and lower roll onto the top of the exchange truck.
