PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for focus adjustment of a projector that can make focus adjustments corresponding to human visual sensation characteristics. SOLUTION: The focus adjusting device is equipped with at least one imaging means of imaging a pattern for measurement projected on a screen from a projection tube through a projection lens, an arithmetic means 2 of calculating the best focus point of the projection lens corresponding to color components of the projection tube alone from imaged information and also calculating the real best focus value from the best focus point while a previously obtained chromatic aberration of the projection lens is taken into consideration, and an output means 4 of outputting the calculation result of the arithmetic means.
