PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for inspecting efficiently the electrical characteristics of a spark plug integrated with coil. SOLUTION: The method of inspecting the electrical characteristics of a spark plug 10 integrally houses an ignition coil and the spark plug in a cylindrical case 11 having a grounded electrode 23. This inspecting method compares the state of a final product, and performs about the above-mentioned spark plug integrated with coil in the state that the gap length of the above-mentioned discharge gap is expanded as compared with the state in the final product. Further, this inspecting method includes an energizing step of energizing a primary coil 31 from an external power supply, and a potential measuring step of measuring the potential of a bridge terminal 60 electrically connected to a central electrode 22 by bringing into contact with at least a part of the discharge surface 221 of the central electrode 22.
