PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide breather structure of a power transmission system for a vehicle capable of improving productivity without causing a harmful effect such as deterioration of yield of products and rise of the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: In an automatic transmission 11, a recessed part 25a for a breather chamber is formed in a rear surface Q1 of a rear end wall 16 of a case 12 at a position corresponding to an oil pressure chamber 14a of a brake 14 inside the case, and on the other hand, an opposite recessed part 35a is formed in a front surface Q2 of an adapter 20 at a position opposite to the recessed part 25a for a breather chamber. In the condition that the front surface Q2 of the adapter 20 is bonded to the rear surface Q1 of the rear end wall 16 for fixation, a breather chamber 37 of a large volume surrounded by an inner surface of the recessed part 25a for a breather chamber and an inner surface of the opposite recessed part 35a is formed.
