PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckle for a seat belt to be handled easily, allowing a user, even an infant, to use the seat belt without letting the user feel compressed or restrained or without letting the user feel tired for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The buckle 100 for the seat belt consists of a buckle body 11 having four insertion holes 12 for inserting tongue plates 14, 15, 16 and 17 with belt locking parts 14e, 15e, 16e and 17e respectively and at least one lock part 13 fixed in the body 11, four detachable tongue plates 14, 15, 16 and 17 to be inserted into the insertion holes 12, and a lid body 18 having a pressure part 24 for operating the detachment of the tongue plates.
