A content recording/reproducing apparatus comprising a first medium management part for reading encoded contents from a first medium; a decoder for decoding the read encoded contents to output the decoded contents; a control part for receiving and outputting at least the decoded contents outputted from the decoder; a display part for reproducing the decoded contents outputted from the control part; and a second medium management part for receiving, during the reproduction of the decoded contents by the display part, the encoded contents read by the first medium management part and recording the received encoded contents into a second medium if the encoded contents can be recorded into the second medium. This can shorten the wait time in which to copy contents into another recording medium.
