PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method of manufacturing a flat commutator unit which is precise, reliable, and is moreover inexpensive. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises a press process of forming a plurality of commutators 1, slit parts 2 provided at fixed widths between each commutator 1, and coupling parts 4 for coupling the adjacent commutators 1 with one another, a molding process of integrating the commutators 1 and an insulator 7 while keeping the width of the slit 2 by insert molding, and a cutting process of cutting each commutator 1 by cutting off the coupling part 4 after the molding process.
