PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for introducing ultrasonic waves into a slit of a welded part, previously creating data of an artificial defect specimen, common to an actual product as a means for determining the quality of a welded state from a reflection echo from the slit, measuring an optimal scan location of a probe, based on the data and conveniently obtaining an inspected result. SOLUTION: A plurality of specimens 6 having slits 7 with different heights are previously created, and a plurality of echo heights are measured and converted into data, when a probe 11 is made to approach/separate and move from a predetermined location to the slit; a measurement location A of the probe is determined from the data. The echo heights of the specimens are extracted, and master data 13 is created; the echo height of the slit at the measurement location A is measured in the welded part of the actual product; and the quality of the welded state is determined by comparing the measured value and the master data.
