<p>The invention relates to a check valve assembly (10) suitable to be inserted in a fuel tank spud (74). The assembly (10) includes a tubular body (12) having a valve seat (26) and a flapper (46) biased against the valve seat (26) by a torsion spring (47). For attachment to the body (12), the flapper (46) is provided with trunnions (62,64). In order to facilitate assembling, the body (12) comprises deflectable portions (28,30) including detent surfaces for receiving the trunnions (62,64).
