The generator is ground-based and is for the production of an upwardly rising aerosol of iodide particles for causing a precipitation of atmospheric moisture. It comprises a container (2) for a solution of iodide in a solvent in the form of fuel. The solution is fed to a combustion unit, which has a mouthpiece (20) for the fine distribution of the solution, which is ignited for burning of the solvent medium and formation of iodide particles for production of the aerosol. - A container for a fuel (1) is available and a conduit (24) feeds fuel to a burner (25) in the vicinity of the mouthpiece, for establishment of a flame in the generator. The mouthpiece inserts the finely distributed solution into the fuel flame. A container (3) for released material comprising combustible solvent in the solution, particularly iodide, is available. The feed of solution to the mouthpiece is periodically interrupted, during which periods solvent is fed from the solvent container to and through the mouthpiece for release and removal of any caked material, which disturbs aerosol formation. |
