Exhaust air system comprises an outer tube (B) which is sealed by a base plate (Q), and has an air inlet and outlet (C) near its base. A filter cartridge (R) hangs in this, and a slotted plate (M) at its top resting on a flange (N) around its rim. A hood (O) also hooks over this flange. The cartridge length is not more than 4/5 of the length of the outer tube. A slotted base plate is fastened to the top plate by a threaded rod (H) passing through the cartridge.
