PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method of a display panel by which not only the existence of a display defect but also the cause of the display defect can be specified. SOLUTION: A signal Sp changing in a rectangular wave shape or a fixed voltage signal Sc is inputted as a source signal for inspection to be inputted to a switching element 22 connected to a pixel electrode 12 disposed in a matrix shape on a liquid crystal display panel 1, a pulse signal Gp or a fixed voltage signal Gc is inputted as a gate signal for inspection to display an image on the liquid crystal display panel 1 and the cause of the display defect is discriminated based on the existence of the display defect.
