<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for managing transportation of an automobile, reducing costs by ensuring transportation of an automobile and improving transportation efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A tag device 11, in which individual identification information of each automobile is written and which is mounted to each automobile, outputs its individual identification information as radio waves. Reader devices 16-19 installed at least one part from a starting point to a reaching point fetch the individual identification information outputted from the tag device 11 as the radio waves, and notifies transportation progress information showing passage of the automobile mounted to the tag device 11 outputting the individual identification information to a center device 20 through a communication network 50. The center device 20 receives the transportation progress information from each of the reader devices 16-19, and records it in a database.
