Arrangement for measuring the wheel loading of wheels (12, 22) and or bogies of a railway vehicle (1), whereby at least a measurement rail section (31, 33) is provided for each wheel and at least two load measurement cells (61, 63) per measurement rail section for measuring the torsion state of the measurement section or sections. An independent claim is made for a method for measuring the force applied by a railway vehicle to the track whereby rail measurement sections associated with each wheel of a vehicle can be raised or lowered using a lifting device to represent track torsion conditions.
