PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for repairing a laser are provided to easily exchange a total mirror having an excellent reflectivity when the image outputted from the observation means is not read, thereby easily observing the electrode panel. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for repairing a laser includes a laser oscillator, a condensing means, an illumination unit, a beam splitter(144), a total mirror(145), an observation means and a switching unit(140). The laser oscillator emits the laser beam to the electrode panel. The condensing means placed between the electrode panel and the laser oscillator for condensing the laser on a side of the electrode panel. The illumination unit illuminates the visual light to the electrode panel. The beam splitter(144) transmits the laser beam or reflects the visual light to the electrode panel. The total mirror(145) totally reflects the visual light to the electrode panel. The observation means observes the electrode panel through the visual light reflected from the total mirror(145). And, the switching unit(140) selectively arranges the beam splitter(144) or the total mirror(145) on the illumination line of the laser beam.
