<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to convert the gradation data to be supplied to an organic EL display without providing another correction circuit, to perform gamma correction and to flexibly change the conversion mechanism of gradation data. <P>SOLUTION: An electro-optical device A is provided with an organic EL display 1, a processor 2 as a peripheral circuit, a RAM 3, and a ROM 4. A gradation conversion module as software is stored in the ROM 4. When the processor 2 executes the gradation conversion module, gamma correction is applied to input picture data to obtain converted picture data.
