PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a coating film-stripping solution which has an excellent film-stripping performance. SOLUTION: The coating film-stripping solution contains, as essential components, at least one stripping substance selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, alkali metal compounds, phosphoric acids, phosphoric acid compounds, phosphates, organic acids and organic acid salts, and an amide compound. The coating film-stripping method comprises coating a coating film-stripping solution onto the surface of a cured coating film adhered to a substrate followed by stripping the cured coating film by washing with water and drying, or coating the coating film-stripping solution onto the surface of the cured coating film adhered to the substrate followed by stripping the cured coating film, then washing with water and drying.
