PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more surely prevent a printing paper sheet from lifting from a platen, and prevent deterioration in print quality at the time of double side printing. SOLUTION: The printed medium lift avoiding device is composed as follows: the printing paper sheet is transferred to the printing head 100 by the paper feeding means by a transfer driving roller 28 and transfer follower roller 29; a platen 65 is formed in opposite to the printing head 100; and two or more ribs 65a which stretch in the paper feeding direction are formed at specified intervals in the main scanning direction on an opposing surface to the printing head 100. A pressure member 80 is formed on the leaving side end of transfer follower roller holder 26 which pivots the transfer follower roller 29, and a pressure part 80a presses the paper sheet against the platen 65 by applied force of a coiled spring 81. Thereby, curved condition is formed on the paper side end edge in cooperation with the rib 65a and the pressure part 80a, the curved condition also spreads in parts away from the pressure part 80a, and the paper sheet is surely prevented from lifting from the plate 65.
