<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a control valve which achieves efficient control, has high responsiveness and avoids waste of time and energy. <P>SOLUTION: In the control valve for a variable displacement compressor, a coolant that is sucked in from a suction chamber 3 leading to a suction conduit 1 is compressed and discharged to a discharge chamber 4 leading to a discharge conduit 2, and coolant pressure is controlled by an electromagnetic control valve 100. In accordance with suction coolant pressure Ps of the suction conduit 1, opening/closing control of a gas supply valve element 132a (gas supply side) communicated with the discharge conduit 2 and a crank chamber 12 and of an extraction valve element 132g (extraction side) communicated with the crank chamber 12 and the suction conduit 1 is performed.
