The device for the transporting of stacks of paper sheets in a conveying system has a device for the aligning of the stack during inward transporting over the conveyor line to the sheet feeder of the processing machine in such a way that it has at least one alignment wall parallel to a side edge of the sheet stack and which is movable against the stack side for its alignment and/or for alignment of the stack together with its pallet. Two alignment walls may be provided which are installed parallel to the conveyor line on two opposite sides of the stack.
