PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surfactant composition which is excellent in foaming properties, viscosity increasing properties, water solubility, and stability in a wide pH range even in the presence of oil stain. SOLUTION: The surfactant composition contains (a) a compound represented by general formula (I), (b) at least one compound selected from among compounds represented by general formulas (II), (III), and (IV), and a surfactant other than components (a) and (b). (In formulas (I)-(IV), R<SP>1</SP>CO- is an optionally hydroxylated 6-24C acyl group; R<SP>2</SP>is a 1-3C alkyl; and R<SP>3</SP>is a 1-6C alkylene or a 2-6C alkenylene). COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
