PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate control of a power source by imparting a suitable voltage dependency or current dependency to each value of resistance concerning the thickness direction and the longitudinal direction of an electrically conductive material constituting a transfer belt and by reducing influence due to change with lapse of time and change in the external environment in each section of the device relative to the transfer efficiency at the transfer process. SOLUTION: In comparison with a ratio between a current Iy in the main transfer current route 31 and a fall voltage Vy by a transfer belt 61, a ratio between a current Ix in a sub transfer current route 32 and a fall voltage Vx by the transfer belt 61 is designed to be larger. When the value of resistance in the sub transfer current route 32 varies by the change in the value of resistance of a sheet of paper, there is no large change in the fall voltage by the transfer belt 61, thereby suppressing variation in the transfer electric field of a transfer region to be formed between the transfer belt 61 and a photoreceptor drum 3.
