PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly heat a material to be heated, and to enhance heating efficiency. SOLUTION: In a rice cooker, a heating part 31, which is composed of an electric heater for directly heating an inside pot 33, is provided below the inside pot 33 for housing the material W to be heated; water, which is supplied to a steam generating part 5 from a water storage tank 30 by drive of first and second pumps 8 and 9, is heated by the heating part 31 so as to be converted into superheated steam; a peripheral side surface of the inside pot 33 is heated by the superheated steam; and the superheated steam is supplied into the inside pot 33 via a steam passage 29 and outflow pipes 12 and 13 so that a space above the material W can be heated.
