PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk storage device capable of improving the prediction accuracy of the position of a sync mark to raise the detection accuracy of the sync mark as a result. SOLUTION: The disk storage device is a disk drive having a read channel which reproduces user data from a data field in synchronization with the sync mark detected from binary data obtained from a read signal. The read channel includes a SYNC detection part 20 having a function of predicting the position of the sync mark by making use of the read signal.
