PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin separating device for separating coins one by one without clogging coins or jamming even if the coins are extremely different in thickness one another. SOLUTION: This device comprises a conveyor belt with a plurality of coins mounted thereon and movable in a storage direction and its reverse direction; a separation roller which is disposed with an interval at most not more than the thickness of two pieces of the thinnest coins at an upper section of the belt and of which the peripheral face is rotated to be moved in the reverse direction, when at least the belt is moved in the storage direction, wherein the belt and the roller can be relatively moved to increase the interval; and a supporter which is adjacently disposed in an upstream side of the roller, is disposed with the interval at most not more than the thickness of one piece of the thinnest coin to the belt, and can be separated from the belt at not less than the interval by the coins and pushed up by the coins.
