PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping material whose damping performance is easily improved. SOLUTION: This damping material comprises a base material composed of a polymer material (A) and an active component (B) that increases the amount of the dipole moment of the base material. A molecular weight between entanglement points of the polymer material (A) in the damping material has increased to 1.2 to 5.0 times that of the polymer material (A) itself due to the blend of the component (B). The component (A) is preferably at least one selected from a halogenated polyolefin and a thermoplastic elastomer.
