PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent for the prevention and treatment of autoimmune diseases for which radical curing method is unknown and provide a screening method for the agent and a method for the diagnosis of the autoimmune diseases. SOLUTION: This invention provides the agent for the prevention and treatment of autoimmune diseases containing an RBAp48 (retinoblastoma associated protein 48) production suppressing agent or inhibiting agent as an active component, the screening method for the autoimmune disease preventing and treating agent by determining the RBAp48 production suppressing or inhibiting action of a specimen, an agent or kit for the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases containing a reagent for the determination of RBAp48 concentration in a glandular system, and the method for the diagnosis of the diseases.
