TRANSGENIC RICE WITH FERRITIN GENE, ACCUMULATING HIGH CONCENTRATION OF IRON PROTEIN TO PRODUCE NATURAL NUTRITIVE FOOD SUPPLYING NATURAL IRON COMPONENT TO INFANTS AND PREGNANT WOMEN

PURPOSE: Transgenic rice with ferritin gene is provided, which transgenic rice has reduced breeding period, and accumulates high concentration of iron protein, so that it can be useful for production of natural nutritive food supplying natural iron component to infants and pregnant women. CONSTITUTION: The gene encoding ferritin having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 6 is provided. A recombinant vector pZ4F-12 containing the gene encoding ferritin having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 6 is produced by cloning the ferritin gene into a vector pMJ21, wherein the recombinant vector pZ4F-12 contains bean ferritin gene and zein promoter(Z4). A transgenic rice is produced by transforming the rice with the recombinant vector pZ4F-12.
