PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To complete the finalization of a disk recorder speedily and also within a short period of time. SOLUTION: When finalizing a disk of real time video information and a disk recorded in a simple format, the amount of recording in a read-out area is specified by a user. Further, postscript to the read-out area is made possible by user specification. Also, recording to the read-out area is performed faster than recording of the video information, and necessary recording power is reduced at the same time, and thus high-speed finalization is realized.
