A circuit arrangement comprises an amplifier with a bipolar transistor (T1) whose base terminal is connected to the input terminal (HFin) for a signal to be amplified. A bias device for setting a potential (UbeT1) is provided on the base terminal of the biotransistor (T1). Additionally provided is a device (32) for supplying a current to the base terminal of the biotransistor (T1) such that a charging or discharging current to the input terminal (HFin) is greater than a base current of the biotransistor (T1). The circuit arrangement also comprises a device (30) for detecting whether a change in potential on the base terminal of the biotransistor (T1) should ensue in order to switch over the biotransistor, and comprises a device (30) for switching on the device for supplying the current to the basis of the bipolar transistor (T1) when a change in potential on the base terminal of the biotransistor (T1) should ensue.
