PURPOSE: A correction method of failure of a coolant temperature sensor for a vehicle is provided to start the engine efficiently in wrong operation of the coolant temperature sensor, and to reduce smoke in starting by outputting the default in deciding the error of the coolant temperature sensor or the fuel temperature sensor. CONSTITUTION: Wrong operation of a coolant temperature sensor is decided in applying power to a vehicle(S100). Fuel injection is decided by correcting the coolant temperature value in starting an engine according to the parking time of the vehicle in deciding the failure of the coolant temperature sensor, and the end of engine starting is decided(S140,S220). Coolant temperature is compensated in warming up the engine in finishing starting the engine, and the end of warming-up of the engine is decided after deciding fuel injection(S150-S170,S230-S250). The coolant temperature is corrected with the default coolant temperature stored in a memory during traveling in finishing warming up the engine, and fuel injection is decided(S180).
