PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of injecting the required quantity of fuel at appropriate timing to burn it. SOLUTION: The control device 7 computes the quantity of air sucked into the engine 2 from the output current of an airflow meter 14 disposed downstream of a throttle valve 12, and determines the injection quantity of fuel in relation to the quantity of air. The double value of the integrated value of the air quantity from the rise to the peak of the sucked air quantity is used for computing the injection quantity, and this value is made the total integrated intake quantity of the intake process and divided by a prescribed air-fuel ratio to acquire the injection quantity of fuel.
